| Financial Controller Our client is a privately owned air charter and logistics company. They operate a fleet of aircraft (both passenger and cargo) and helicopters operating throughout The Middle East, Europe, Africa and near Asia. They are currently seeking a Financial Controller to be based at their Head Office in Dubai. The successful candidate will be responsible for the finance function which will necessitate travelling to our client’s sites located in Africa, Asia and the Middle East. Some of which are in post conflict areas e.g. Iraq, Afghanistan etc You will be responsible for the provision of overall financial guidance to our clients management team assuring that decisions are taken on a solid financial basis, taking responsibility for the capital employed and the analysis of our clients business processes and development of systems for improvements. Key tasks will include the monthly closing: review and closing of accounts, build controls as required to ensure proper capture of income and costs, review and control monthly accruals, prepayments. Preparation of year end figures, preparation of business review and forecasts, participation in business review meetings, presentation of results. You will monitor the capital employed: fixed assets, inventory, prepayments, accounts receivables. You will make visits to the regions / sites from which the main activities are performed and preparation of follow-up reports and action lists. Finally you will reconcile the balance sheet accounts, prepare budgets, forecasts etc, define and monitor key drivers and KPI’s for the business. Knowledge and Skills: The successful candidate must be a qualified Accountant and be an accomplished Financial Accountant / Controller with some experience in a similar position ideally in an international aviation or logistics company. In addition you should have knowledge of business process re-engineering, excellent computer knowledge (ERP Financials, MS Office, OLAP Database and reporting tools) and a high level of analytical skills. You should be fluent in written and spoken English and have a strong attention to detail. Superb communication skills and instant credibility are essential as you will be inter-facing with a number of people from different backgrounds, nationalities and religions. Finally you should possess a Drivers Licence and be IT / PC literate particularly in Excel and spreadsheets. This is an outstanding challenge for an accomplished Financial Accountant / Controller looking for something different. The basic salary is paid in US Dollars and is tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition there is an annual bonus which is also paid in US Dollars and tax free for an Ex-Patriate employee. In addition the job holder will receive a monthly housing allowance of 2,500 USD per month, a company car, medical insurance, a laptop and mobile phone. The holiday entitlement is 30 days. Ex-Patriate employees will also receive 1 paid return economy flight per year and Mobilization and De-Mobilization flights are also paid for by our client.
