| Accountant Role Purpose: Takes ownership of a specific accounting area such as sales, purchases, expenditure whilst maintaining records of accounts, verifying the procedures used for recording the financial transactions and providing personal bookkeeping services. Key Responsibilities: 1. Book sales transactions and deposit all cash receipts 2. Process invoices for payment and record all cash disbursements and cash receipts 3. Maintain general journal performing month end closing tasks 4. Prepare monthly bank reconciliations 5. Be able to reconcile supplier statements, liaise with suppliers 6. Prepare regular reports regarding supplier accounts settlements, accounts aging, and cash outflows forecast 7. Help develop processes that can reduce manual entry and increase accuracy of financial data entry 8. Initiate improvements in the accounting process Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting - Inquisitive and willing to learn - Diligent and accurate approach to accounting issues - Detail oriented Strong analytical skills - Team player - Excellent interpersonal skills, including ability to communicate effectively and with diplomacy | |
