| Legal Assistant Bi-Lingual English Arabic Legal Assistant Bi-Lingual English Arabic Job Description Assist the Head of Department and lawyers in the delivery of legal services; perform specifically delegated diverse and highly responsible technical duties for assigned Lawyers. PLEASE DO NOT APPLY IF YOU DO NOT HAVE THE RELEVANT EXPERIENCE MUST BE BI-LINGUAL (ENGLISH ARABIC) Responsibilities -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Job Responsibilities Specific duties will vary considerably according to specific needs of the office and/or department. These include but are not limited to: • Adhere to internal policy and procedures in handling delegated tasks and duties • Conduct legal, statistical and documentary research on recent laws, judgment and precedents; gather facts and evidence • Locate and interview witnesses as requested • Assist in drafting legal documents and correspondence • As directed by lawyers, summarise depositions, interrogatories and testimony • Ensure successful completion of tasks on time and report on progress • Demonstrate effective utilization of time and resources against predetermined billable income for Legal Assistants • Attend executions of various relevant activities such as wills, real estate closings, depositions, court or administrative hearings and trials with lawyers • Contribute to the input of required data on all types of new support cases on the Department’s database • Provide a high level of customer service at all times; project and maintain a positive image • Ensure to keep up-to-date with issues and developments in law • Perform other work related tasks as required Requirements -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Knowledge: • Sound knowledge of UAE legal system and substantive and procedural law • Sound knowledge of technical legal terms • Working knowledge of research techniques • Excellent working knowledge of MS Office, Outlook and Internet browsing Skills: • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English • Very good problem solving and research skills • Good planning and organising skills Abilities: • Ability to work independently and effectively as part of a multinational team • Ability to coordinate own work • Ability to proactively initiate processes • Ability to perform under tight deadlines and pressure • Ability to maintain cooperative and effective working relationship with colleagues • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times Qualifications -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Education: Minimum BA in a related field and 2 years coursework in Legal studies Experience: • Minimum 2 years experience in a similar role.
