Our client is the leading multi national company manufacturing industrial equipments for the oil & gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, pulp & paper and mining sectors. They are the market leaders in their segment having manufacturing facilities in 20 countries globally, operating in more than 50 countries having 6000 plus employee base. Our client is looking for a General Manager – Sales for its Middle East who can lead and develop their sales and after sales service operations in the region. Reporting to the Managing Director, this is a sales driven, sales focused role. Sales growth and increasing market share will be paramount to the success of this role.


Functions:
- Direct and manage the short and medium term sales/business objectives for the Region in order to meet and exceed business orders and sales targets.

- Ensure that the staff and management teams of sales organizations are properly led, managed, rewarded and motivated and developed to achieve and exceed sales, profit, margin and cash targets in line with the Group’s Full Potential Plan business objectives for the Region.

- To be primarily responsible for the growth of orders and sales, and sales direction, in line with the Company’s selected market sector strategic objectives, and its annual and medium term FPP.

- To create, produce, and then manage, “a paradigm shift” in sales organization, culture and, in consequence, generate substantially improved performance across the region, the results of which being that the company can grow aggressively, but strategically, its “top line” both in terms of organic growth and market share penetration.

- To establish strategic alliances with end-users and strategic OEMs, cultivating long term commitment and co-operation for mutual benefit and added value.

- To devise, establish and implement the most appropriate sales organizations, under the direction of the MD of MEA.

- Ensure that the company has a sales organization which can and does reinforce market-sector focused end user and/or OEM sales strategies and initiatives.

- Ensure that the Sales Region has an effective and appropriate service and repair strategy and infrastructure to meet the needs of the Region.

- Establish and maintain contracts and contacts across the Region appropriate for the successful and profitable management of the Region.

- Review the performance of subordinates; identify training needs, drive the use of Personal Development and Succession Plans
- Work closely with the Group to ensure that the principles, practices, and protocols through which, and by which, the compnay will be managed globally, are fully adopted within his area of responsibility.



Requirements:
- Qualified to at least first degree level and ideally possess an additional business qualification; e.g. MBA or MSc.

- In depth “on the ground” experience specific to the Oil and Gas Industry of making business happen in the Middle East, with a proven track record in Strategic Selling in a complex technical/commercial environment.

- A proven record both in commercial leadership and people leadership.

- Experience of a distinctly customer service oriented business.

- Second-to-none communication skills.

- High levels of mental toughness and proven abilities to manage complex, fast moving and challenging commercial issues in a robust operating environment.

- Technically capable, however knowledge of sealing products in the applied areas such as oil, gas, and petrochem, are essential.

- Arabic language skills are deemed would be an advantage.
